Cheese wraps became a popular store-bought item a year or two ago and I am loving it! They come in a variety of flavors from different brands and when I came across these Mozzarella wraps, I was inspired to make a Caprese Chicken Cheese Wrap with fresh garden produce for a simple low-carb Keto lunch!
Traditional lunch wraps like these Taco Wraps or Orange Chicken Wraps use tortillas to hold everything together for an easy handheld meal. With the advent of cheese wraps, we can make wraps very low carb and perfect for those following Keto!
Caprese Salad Wrap
This Caprese Chicken Cheese Wrap was inspired by all of the fresh flavors coming out of my garden. My tomatoes have just started to ripen and my basil has been bountiful for months now.
This easy wrap has only 5 simple ingredients, so it is important to use the best possible quality. This rings true for any version of Caprese. The flavors are light and simple and when you use garden fresh tomatoes it brings an amazing flavor to the dish that store-bought just aren’t able to.
Garden Fresh Tomatoes
That’s not to say that you can’t use tomatoes from the grocery store, but I highly recommend you make the effort to get to your local farmers market if you don’t have a garden yourself.
Garden tomatoes are so far superior to their mass produced counterparts you find at the store. They are juicy and plump full of sweet flavor. While many people I know eat them all alone with a little salt, I love to highlight them in recipes like these Caprese Wrap, Tomato Basil Burrata Salad or Garden Fresh Sweet Corn Salsa.
How to make easy Keto cheese wrap?
If you want to whip up this fresh and easy cheese wrap, you only need 5 simple ingredients!
- Mozzarella cheese wrap
- Roasted chicken breast
- Fresh basil
- Balsamic glaze
I used some herb roasted chicken from my Factor 75 delivery, but any pre-cooked chicken like rotisserie chicken will do the job.
Top the chicken with a drizzle of balsamic reduction. I often make my own, but I wanted to make this quick 5 minute recipe in a pinch, so I just grabbed my store-bought bottle of balsamic glaze from my kitchen cabinet.
Add some fresh basil and garden tomatoes to the chicken and cheese. Wrap it up and enjoy a delicious and easy lunch you will love!
