Bowls were a big trend last year and frankly I don’t think they are going anywhere soon. They are a great way to enjoy meals in a quick and convenient way. My personal favorites are this 10 Minute Beef & Broccolini Bowl, BBQ Chicken & Roasted Sweet Potato Bowls and of course these Buffalo Chicken & Quinoa Veggie Bowls! Not only are bowls easy to make, but they also make it incredibly simple to weigh out your ingredients if you are counting calories or carbohydrates.
When I am making a bowl I like to use my handy EatSmart Precision Digital Kitchen Scale so I know exactly what my macros are for that meal. To get started I add whatever bowl I am preparing my food in to the scale. Because of the convenient tare feature on the scale, I can easily zero out the weight of whatever plate or bowl I am using to prep food. I will add one one ingredient at a time and track the nutrition in MyFitnessPal. After it’s tracked, I use the tare function to zero it out before adding the next ingredient.

This is important because some ingredients provide the nutritional information for a set amount of grams and others use ounces. - 3 oz. cooked quinoa
- 3 oz. shredded rotisserie chicken
- 2 Tbsp. buffalo sauce
- 2.5 oz. cherry tomatoes
- 1 oz. chopped celery
- ½ avocado
- 0.5 oz. bleu cheese
- lime wedges
- Toss the chicken in the buffalo sauce. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds if you prefer your chicken warm.
- Add one ingredient at a time to your bowl on your EatSmart Precision Digital Kitchen Scale. After each addition tare the scale to zero and add the next ingredient. Continue until you have added everything.
- Serve with lime wedges.
