Cranberry Cream Cheese Appetizer

Cranberry Pecan Feta Dip combines a trio of great ingredients and it is easy to make. You wind up with a very elegant tasting cheese dip. With cranberry pecan feta dip you get nuttiness and healthy fats of pecans. Then, you add vibrant sourness and rich antioxidants of cranberries. Finally, you blend in the tangy saltiness of Feta cheese.

So simple to make, but adds complex flavor to your average cheese dip. This easy appetizer is the makings of a sweet and savory cranberry cheese ball, but in an easy dip recipe!

Combining fruit with savory ingredients creates flavors that are some of my favorites. I recently did a Blue Apron Review and shared the Sweet Pepper and Fig Grilled Cheese sandwich from the box that was amazing. It’s all about balancing the flavors!

If you love the flavors of this sweet and savory dip, I’m sure you will enjoy some of my other recipes like bacon blue cheese apple flatbread, fruit and goat cheese chicken bowls and cranberry orange custard pie. I recently just had an amazing

Making this dip couldn’t be simpler. You simply blend together the ingredients in a food processor and spoon in into a small bowl. If you want to add some textures to it, then hold back some of the pecans and cranberries to mix into the smoothly blended ingredients.

The great thing about it?

It is actually very cheap to make yourself. If you went to a fancy cheese shop or even in the cheese section of your local grocery, expect some sticker shock. I guess because the dip tastes so upscale the price has to reflect that. Making your own is a much better way to go!

How to serve the dip?

Once you have blended the ingredient, then add the cheese mix to a ramekin style cup or small bowl. Ideally, you want something that won’t tip over when everyone goes to spoon some out. You have to prepare yourself for everyone fighting for their share of this delicious dip after all! It also makes it easier to store with a little Saran wrap on top.

What do I serve the dip with?

You can add this to a cheese platter or a charcuterie plate and provide either slices of french bread, crackers, or flat breads. I also recommend it with dark sweet and savory breads like pumpernickel. It also makes for a great smear on a variety of bagels.

On a separate note, this cheese also works well on top of some grilled chicken breast. Just put about a tablespoon sized dollop on top of the hot breast and let it melt on. It takes a plain chicken breast to a whole other level. Pretty divine.

How long can I store cranberry pecan feta dip?

This dip will actually keep very well in the fridge if you store it properly. Cranberries keep nicely and the salt in the cheese helps as well to preserve the pecans from going bad. Depending on the freshness of the ingredients you use, you can actually keep it for week or two without an issue if you store it in an airtight container.

Total Time: 5 minutes

Cranberry Pecan Feta Dip is an easy 5 minute appetizer recipe perfect for any holiday party. Cream cheese, feta, dried cranberries, pecans and green onions are blended in a food processor for a quick and simple dip recipe that is sure to be a hit.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 3 Tbsp. milk or cream
  • 4 oz. crumbled feta
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ c. chopped pecans
  • 1 c. dried cranberries
  • ½ c. green onions, chopped
  • crackers and bread for serving

Instructions

  1. Add the cream cheese, milk, feta and salt to a food processor. Pulse until everything is smooth.
  2. Add the cranberries and continue pulsing until they are well combined.
  3. Add the pecans and green onions and pulse a few times just until well incorporated.
  4. Spoon the dip into a small bowl and refrigerate before serving.

Notes

If you plan to serve without refrigerating, reduce the amount of milk by 1 Tbsp. Serve with crackers and bread.

To make a cheese ball, eliminate the milk and form into a ball. Wrap in saran wrap and refrigerate until serving. Roll the ball in additional chopped pecans and dried cranberries.
